Meet Şans

Their Story

Şans, whose name means “Chance” in Turkish, was found on March 12, 2026, in the parking garage of an apartment complex in Maltepe, Istanbul. He was discovered with devastating injuries around his face and head. At first, it was believed that he had been struck by a vehicle. However, further medical examinations revealed a far more disturbing reality: Şans had been deliberately beaten and subjected to severe blunt-force trauma.

He underwent an initial jaw operation, a procedure considered extremely risky given his fragile condition.

The consequences of his trauma remain significant. Şans continues to suffer from structural damage to his face and nasal passages, recurrent discharge and sneezing, necrotic nasal tissue, and documented bacterial infection. The deformation of his nose also makes breathing difficult, and he still needs another nasal operation. Alongside these injuries, he is battling kidney disease and severe anemia, requiring specialist care, regular monitoring, and ongoing treatment.

Beyond his medical needs, Şans is also looking for a very special forever home: an adopter who understands his complex medical history, is willing to give him the patience and care he needs, and is financially prepared to cover potential future veterinary treatments and procedures.

We are hoping to raise $2,000 to help cover his upcoming medical and surgical expenses, reducing the financial burden on a future adopter and making it easier for Şans to find the loving forever home he deserves.

How Your Donation Is Used

All donations are received and managed by Feline Guardians through our Survivor Care Program. Funds raised through Şans’s appeal will be allocated to their veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and related care needs.

Once their care needs have been met, any excess funds, or funds no longer required for their care, will be allocated to the Survivor Care Program to provide treatment and support for other survivors of deliberate cruelty and abuse.

Fundraising goals are based on estimated needs and may be adjusted as circumstances change.
